The Vineyard & Winery at Whiteface Hollow

Whiteface Hollow is a small family operated, vineyard & event venue in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire at the foothills of the White Mountains National Forest; we focus on producing small batch, hand-crafted wines. Every grape in our wines has been grown, fermented, crafted, and bottled on our farm.

A BIT OF HISTORY

We prepared the beds for our vineyard in the Fall of 2017 and planted 1/4 acres in the Spring of 2018 - an expansion in the Spring of 2020 brought our vineyard to 1/2 acre.  Seven cold hardy grape varieties, four red and three whites, were selected from the University of Minnesota's and Elmer Swenson's special viniculture grape breeding programs for their ability to produce superior tasting, medium and full-bodied fruity wine that can grow and mature in our New England Climate.

We have fantastic soil for cultivating wine grapes; our location, on a hilltop, is perfectly situated and receives all-day sunlight throughout the growing season.  Monitoring the health, vigor and growth of our test plot and the impact of our micro-climate on vine health, will provide us with important insights for expanding the vineyard at a future date.

Our Winery was completed in 2020. This unique space makes a wonderful, addition to our overall Venue providing future tastings as well as extra space for our guests to host intimate events; a perfect place for having a rehearsal dinner or day-after brunch; it separately accommodates 30 seated. The setting and views from the tasting room and patio is a special space to enjoy with friends and family.

Our first harvest, from the first plantings, was completed in the fall of 2021. We bottled our first vintage - 2021 - during the Summer of 2022 from grapes grown and produced 100% on property.

It typically takes 3-5 years for vines to mature and produce a "good" harvest suitable for quality wine production.  Our vineyard will be able to provide approx. 1,200+ bottles/year under normal conditions once the vines are fully mature.
